Separate the applications
A cleaning robot and a material-transport robot may share navigation technology, but they perform different jobs and carry different operating risks. Each workflow needs its own route, owner, and success criteria.
Design for shared traffic
Pedestrians, forklifts, carts, and autonomous machines may all use the same crossings and aisles. Site rules, right-of-way behavior, alerts, and no-go zones should be clear before routine operation.
Build the support layer
Charging, network access, software, maintenance, cleaning, and recovery from a stopped unit all affect uptime. Industrial automation works best when these needs are treated as part of facility operations.
